Drug Testing Policy

Wexford Health Solutions may require drug testing as part of safe and compliant care, especially where controlled substances or MAT-related treatment are involved.

Testing Window

When a drug test is requested, it must be completed within 72 hours of receiving the notification email unless alternative arrangements have been approved by the practice.

Patient Responsibilities

  • Check whether insurance will cover the test.
  • If insurance will not cover testing, contact the office as soon as possible to discuss options.
  • Complete testing within the required timeframe.
  • Respond promptly to communication from the office or nursing team.

Communication

Patients may receive an email notification, and Nurse Cooper may follow up personally to confirm the patient received the request and is actively booking the test.

Failure to Complete Testing

If testing is not completed within the required timeframe and there has been no communication from the patient, the patient may be discharged from service.
